This statue called the Grape Crusher sits on a hill overlooking the Napa Valley.  What a primo vista, and I was there just in time to snap a few photos with the iPhone camera.  I use this image as my iPhone wallpaper from time to time as a reminder of that great week in Napa last Spring, 2009.

Music

In honor of my Grape Crusher image, and since I have been listening to Jeff Buckley's Grace album ever since featuring him a few days ago with A Satisfied Mind, I thought I might feature his lovely cover of James Shelton's Lilac Wine for today's entry.

Additionally, I like the idea of posting another Buckley tune right after Thom Yorkes Atoms for Peace from yesterday so some of you can weigh in on "Who has the best falsetto in the biz?"

So it was around this time last year that I was in Napa, California, attending a conference.  It was the first time I had visited that town, and I was just blown away by its pastoral beauty.  My childhood friend D.D.K. lives there now, and he was so kind to drive me around every afternoon in a Range Rover.  Oh, yeah... that's  what I call taking in the sights in style.  Thanks, D.D.K.!

Until tomorrow... well, I can't wait!  It's USA vs. Canada for hockey gold.  I'll be pleased no matter who wins; I like both teams very much.  CCE
