April to October

This was an experiment to see if a decent photo could be achieved off an LCD screen projecting HDTV.

I think the verdict is "no", in general; but I do like how the crowd in direct sunshine in the background ends up looking like figures in an impressionist painting.

Meanwhile, Tim "The Freak" Lincecum of the SF Giants is relatively in focus in the foreground.

Kind of cool.

{Kind of.}

Final stats for The Freak:

7.0 innings pitched.
4 hits.
0 earned runs.
0 walks.
7 strikeouts.

Uh, yeah.  Unless he gets injured, count on a third consecutive Cy Young for the 25-year old phenom.  He is, in actuality, one freaky cool Freak.

April to October - Reckless Kelly

The Braun Brothers out of Oregon put a little more twang in to their alternative-country sound than I'd prefer; but they've won my respect based on their love of baseball.

I saw them sing a lovely rendition of God Bless America during a Cubs game on WGN a few years ago, and it was terrific.  They set their tour schedule based around baseball, with one bro liking the BoSox, and the other liking the Spankees.

This song is about the long, winding road of a Major League Baseball season, which I think they correlate to the long, winding road of being touring musicians.
